Cleopatra and Doris arrived at the refuge in a pitiful state. They were both malnourished, and extremely thin.
Doris was found wandering the streets, and Cleopatra was rescued from a terrible existence, on a finca.
Podencos are often used for hunting, and are the most mistreated breed in Tenerife, even though they are loyal and sweet natured. They are often abandoned, when their owners consider them to be no longer useful.
Doris and Cleopatra have now been vaccinated, and are settling into life at the refuge.
Each day, we see improvements in their confidence and general condition, and, hopefully, they will be available for adoption, in the not-too-distant future.
