Amanda has been fostering with us for quite a few years now, and in that time she has opened her home and her heart to so many dogs in need.
Alongside her own dogs, Amanda’s home is now filled with some very special characters.
There’s Daisy, whose front legs are badly deformed, but who has found a safe and loving place to call home.
Canela arrived at the refuge terrified of her own shadow and rarely interacted with anyone. With patience, kindness and time, she has found confidence and security with Amanda.
Then there’s Epi, who was found chained and clearly not well treated. His life now looks very different.
Freddy is our resident escape artist, secretly, we think Amanda may have fallen completely in love with him! She nursed him back to health following an operation and has been there for him every step of the way.
And Negrita, who never really settled into refuge life, was found wandering the streets with her daughter. She too has found her safe haven with Amanda.
Affectionately, we call them Amanda’s tribe ,Amanda’s Ark.
A recent visit from our foster team showed exactly what we expected to see,well-loved, happy dogs who have found a place where they truly belong.
For dogs who have known fear, neglect, uncertainty or simply struggled to cope in a refuge environment, a foster home can make all the difference.
And Amanda continues to prove just how powerful that second chance can be. Thank you, Amanda, for opening your home time and time again and for giving these wonderful dogs the love, patience and security they deserve.
