Charlie’s Story

Sometimes, we know that the stories we are told are not always entirely truthful. Mark’s long experience with animal and human behaviour often tells him what is left unspoken.

So, when Charlie arrived with us in 2024, we were told that he had been found wandering. We suspected that perhaps he had been left by his owner himself.

Charlie was very friendly and affectionate towards the man in question, but we are not here to judge, only to give help where it is needed.

Charlie soon settled with us, or so we thought. Then, while out on a walk, he suffered an unprovoked attack by another dog, which left his ear badly ripped. The experience understandably unsettled him.

Around the same time, a lovely gentleman who had previously adopted Orion stepped forward and offered Charlie a foster home, where there was more space, peace and tranquillity for him.

Charlie has absolutely thrived in Ramone’s care. He now lives happily off grid, enjoying a quieter and more peaceful life.

One of our volunteers continues to follow up with Ramone and check on Charlie, and we are delighted to hear that Charlie is doing just fine.

Sometimes, an animal simply needs the right environment, patience, understanding and someone willing to give them a second chance.
