When Dhalia arrived at our refuge last year, she wasn’t alone—she had a tiny puppy by her side. Her puppy was quickly adopted, but Dhalia stayed behind, waiting patiently for her own chance.
As the weeks passed, she slowly began to come out of her shell, learning that she was safe, loved, and finally able to just be herself. After being spayed, like all of our dogs before they leave the refuge, she blossomed even more.
The worried, uncertain girl we first met was replaced by a happy dog who had found joy in life again. Then something incredible happened.
Thanks to the wonderful team at Kanarian Hunde, a family in Germany saw Dhalia, fell completely in love, and knew she was meant to be theirs. Last week, Dhalia boarded her flight to a brand-new life.
Every day she’s growing a little more confident, settling into her forever home surrounded by the love she has always deserved. From raising her puppy… to finding herself… to finding her family.
