Mia is a lovely, clever and playful girl who is looking for a home where she can settle, feel safe and enjoy life again. Mia previously lived with an elderly couple and had a garden where she could roam around freely.
Sadly, they had to move into an apartment and could no longer keep her, so Mia came into rescue through no fault of her own. Mia finds kennel life very stressful.
She gets frustrated and can be reactive towards other dogs when she is coming out of her kennel. Once she is outside, though, she really relaxes and is a completely different dog.
She walks lovely on her lead, enjoys being out and you can see her stress disappear. We have also noticed that after she has had some time out, she is much less reactive when going back to her kennel.
Mia is very clever and learns quickly. She enjoys training and would really benefit from someone who wants to spend time teaching her new things and keeping her mind busy.
She loves playing ball, exploring and, once she trusts you, she absolutely loves a cuddle. Mia can be curious about some dogs but doesn't like others, so we feel she would be happiest as the only dog in the home.
We don't think she has had much socialisation with other dogs during her previous life. Mia would love someone who is willing to continue her training, give her plenty of things to keep her busy and help her build her confidence.
Mia really is a lovely girl. Kennels are bringing out the worst in her, but once she is out, relaxed and enjoying herself, you get to see the sweet, affectionate and clever girl she really is.
