Patch Has Finally Found His Forever Home

Patch joined Live PAWS in early 2022 after being found wandering the streets. With his happy energy and love of human attention, we were convinced he wouldn’t be with us for long.

Sadly, we were wrong. As we got to know him, we noticed he sometimes became unsettled when other dogs tried to play.

We discovered that Patch was deaf — he couldn’t hear them approaching or the sounds they made. Finding a family who understood his needs took time.

But, like every dog who comes into our care, we never stopped searching. Then along came a wonderful family who already share their home with a deaf cat.

They understood that Patch needed patience, reassurance and time to feel safe. With the support of our dedicated adoption team, introductions were slow and steady, giving Patch and his family the chance to get to know each other.

And now we can share the news we’ve waited so long to announce…Patch’s trial has been a success, and he is officially adopted! After years of waiting, our clever, affectionate, water-loving boy finally has a family who understand his needs and have welcomed him with open arms.
